Looking to make some new friends and go on adventures. I like hiking, camping, mountain biking, canoeing. I have hiked the Inca Trail in Peru, camped in Rocky Mountains, hiked to bottom of Grand Canyon (in winter), and been to Alaska, Philippines, and Thailand. In NW Arkansas, I have been to Lost Valley, Devils Den, and War Eagle. Anybody know some good bike trails? Thanks

Yes, lots of them.   In Benton County - the Slaughterpen trail system in Bentonville has about 12 miles of trails, and Hobbs, east of Beaver Lake, has about 25 miles of trails.  Also, Lake Leatherwood, which is about 2 miles west of Eureka Springs on Highway 62, has several good trails.

In Washington County, you have Lake Fayetteville (5.5 miles) right next to the Springdale Lewis & Clark.  Devils Den State Park, located near Winslow is a great mountain biking area, and there is also Lake Lincoln, located about 20 miles southwest of Fayetteville (there is actually an outdoor festival there on Saturday - details are on this message board.

Also, if you go about 2.5 hours east of here in the Mt. View/Mt. Home area, there is the Sylamo trail system, which has about 50 miles of trails.

You can also go to http://www.arkansasstateparks.com, and on the park finder, you can find what state parks have trails, and descriptions of them.

If you go to the cycling section of this website, then click on the places to ride tab and you will see many mountain and recreational riding places.   Also, both stores have maps, pamplets, etc. of all these trails/trail systems.

The riding here is great - I have mountain biked Colorado, Utah, etc. and the trails here are as good as anywhere.

The Rogers store also does a group mountain bike ride every Monday at 6, however, we will have to soon change this to the weekend, as we don't have too much light left that time of day .

Happy riding.
